OUR HISTORY

In Matthew 16:18 Jesus said, “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Surely the building referred to here is not brick and mortar. In John 17:14-16 the Lord prayed that the believers would be in the world yet not of the the world. The New Testament uses the word fellowship; according to 1 John 1:3 this is much more than a social event. Hebrews 10:25 strongly warns us that we should not abandon our own assembling together but rather exhort one another all the more as we see the day of the Lord approaching. Acts 2:46 describes a living that was day by day and house to house; clearly this is not something they did once a week. By God’s great mercy, may we all have the realization that meeting but once a week cannot accomplish God’s goal in His believers, in His church.

John 17:14-16
I have given them Your word, and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world even as I am not of the world. I do not ask that You would take them out of the world, but that You would keep them out of the hands of the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

1 John 1:3
That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:25
Not abandoning our own assembling together, as the custom with some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more as you see the day drawing near.

Acts 2:46
Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with exultation and simplicity of heart.

Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses has not given you the bread out of heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world. They said therefore to Him, Lord, give us this bread always. Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall by no means hunger, and he who believes into Me shall by no means ever thirst. John 6:32-35
